Many Falls Trail drops into the St. Mary River valley through lodgepole forest recently burned in the Reynolds Creek Fire of 2015. As you descend to the river through charred landscape, enjoy views of the western arm of St. Mary Lake. Water-loving American dippers nest behind the silver curtains of St. Mary Falls. Leaving the St. Mary River, you begin to follow Virginia Creek and pass views of numerous waterfalls. While hiking up the southern slope, you enter cool, wet spruce forest where the excitement culminates at the base of awe-inspiring Virginia Falls.
