The Long Reach Trail loops through boggy lowlands, over rocky ridges, beneath dark evergreens, and along the shore of Long Reach. At the southernmost point of the trail, there is shore access where you can see the towering cliffs across the narrow inlet. A wooded island floats like a battleship halfway across Long Reach. At low tide the island sits in a huge tidal flat; almost no water remains in the reach.
