All great campgrounds can be found in the same place: the last place you’d look for them. This little nugget of wisdom will lead you to some of the most surprising and wonderful campgrounds in any state, and it certainly holds true in Utah. Case in point: Maple Grove. This calm and flourishing sanctuary is located on the foothills of the Pahvant Range between Scipio and Aurora. Don’t feel bad if you’re not sure where any of those places are, because not many people do. Fish Lake seems to get all the publicity in Fishlake National Forest (gee, I wonder why?), meaning the Pahvant Range, Tushar Mountains, and Sevier Plateau stay blissfully unadvertised. There are a handful of campgrounds in these parts of Fishlake just like Maple Grove—relatively unknown and unspoiled.
