The scenery on this hike is drop-dead gorgeous, and since the entire hike is on an old road, you can actually enjoy it while you’re walking without slipping on tree roots or falling over slimy rocks. You can combine this hike with the Moalepe Trail, and many people do, but you need to have a ride at the other end, or be prepared to turn around and come back the same way. If you have time to do only one of the two hikes, this one is the more interesting. When you’ve finished, you can have a quick dip in the stream to cool off at the Keahua Forestry Arboretum, just around the corner.
