A paddle on the Mississippi River is essential for any local or visiting paddler. Best of all, it’s far more welcoming than many might believe, especially considering the crashing falls one sees from Stone Arch Bridge. In reality, this section of the Mississippi River can be as surprisingly pristine and manageable as any other paddle in the book. We work our way south from Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park in the suburb of the same name down to the dock at Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge (a tiki-themed restaurant) in Minneapolis’s Nordeast neighborhood.
