This 4.5-mile linear trail at Harmon Park cruises a mellow course through wildflower-packed meadows and pine-hardwood forest on smooth, flowing, and gently rolling singletrack. It’s the perfect place for new riders to get comfortable and gain confidence, and advanced riders can appreciate an easy trail day or speed workout. Don’t let the short mileage at Salem Hills fool you. Every inch of the park’s 4.5 miles is on sublime singletrack and is so addicting, plan on extra time to get your multiple lap fix. Salem’s three linked loops offer a nice mix of scenery, with a woodsy start giving way to open prairie, a small pond, and a handful of bridge crossings. This is also a regular locale for the launch of the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series, and despite the absence of a lung- busting climb or white- knuckle downhill, many racers say it’s their favorite event of the year.
