A fun place to hike and a great place to learn about nature, Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Township is a 320-acre preserve within the larger Bald Eagle-Otter Lakes Regional Park. Explore the trails across wetlands, prairie, and forest. If you have children with you, or are just a big kid yourself, head to Discovery Hollow Nature Play Area and Garden, a nature play area where you’re not only permitted but encouraged to get dirty.
