Lily Pad Pond rests against the ?ank of Sentinel Mountain. From the small, shallow pond, you have spectacular views of the mountains from Moose Mountain to Katahdin. Beaver Brook and Lily Pad Pond offer good wildlife viewing. Windy Pitch Pond Trail begins on the south shore of Lily Pad Pond. Lily Pad Pond is little more than a wide spot in Beaver Brook just before it empties into Nesowadnehunk Stream. The pond is ringed by marsh, densely packed laurel and cranberry bushes with the occasional spruce or larch standing like sentries. Alders grow as close as they dare, creeping in from along Nesowadnehunk Stream. It’s a pretty spot where you might see moose or ducks. To the west, rises the rounded hump of Sentinel Mountain—its crown showing bald spots here and there.
