This ride begins just as the Shingletown ride does, with a 2-mile descent on Ponderosa to the Inwood Road junction. While that ride bears o? left on Inwood, this one turns right on Ponderosa. For the next 4 miles, it bumps along amid green pastures and scattered stands of oak and pine, ?rst for 2 mildly downhill miles and then for 2 mildly uphill miles. The road is quite primitive: just one wide lane, with no stripes, and yet with reasonably good paving.
