This is one of four big rides set in the Santa Cruz Mountains with a start on the coastal side of the range. As the elevation numbers suggest, it’s a hard ride, with some serious climbing challenges. However, the hardest work is over by mile 40 and the last third of the ride is mostly downhill or level. Navigation is also going to be a challenge, with quite a few turns to puzzle out.
