Known by locals as the “Albuquerque Volcanoes” or the “Three Sisters,” the sacred volcanoes sit just west of the city. From the city and even at a first close-up glance, this landscape appears to be a bit barren and much like the typical sagebrush-littered New Mexico desert. A closer look reveals that this nearly 3-mile ride covers area that provided the volcanic boulders found within the Petroglyph National Monument.
