This is a mountain bike ride that travels over dirt and pavement adjacent to Las Trampas Ridge in Danville and Alamo. The ride has a mellow start in a city of Danville park, and then penetrates Las Trampas Regional Wilderness by climbing the steep slopes of the Las Trampas Ridge. The ridge is an uplift that was formed by movement along the Las Trampas and Bollinger faults. Although there is plenty of rugged, undeveloped land in Las Trampas and the adjacent watershed, many of the trails are closed to bikes.
