Ring Point San Pedro is a counterclockwise loop around the rim of Point San Pedro. The route passes through San Rafael, China Camp State Park, and the unincorporated community of Santa Venetia. The terrain is mostly rolling, with two short but steep climbs. The terrain is, therefore, different from that of the other bayside rides—there are only a few flat segments, so be prepared to do a little work. Begin the ride by turning right onto Francisco Boulevard, parallel to I-580. This rather unpleasant segment of the route is forgivingly short, as you pass by a car dealership amidst the roar of the freeway. The road bends right, becoming Grand Avenue. After crossing the San Rafael Canal, turn right at the signal onto 2nd Street, which is a one-way road through here. This is a busy commercial segment—watch out for vehicles entering and exiting driveways.
