This campground has two sections, one on each side of Rockcastle River. The sites in the first section, on the south side of the river, are more tent-friendly, with more shade and excellent privacy. The second section, on the north side of the river, is RV-friendly, with moreopen and sunny campsites. The campground overlooks the Rockcastle River and features Old Sublimity Bridge, a historic structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the late 1930s. The campground is popular with hikers and backpackers.
