The campground is rich in history and staffed with friendly people ready to help make sure your stay is all you hoped it would be. You may find yourself returning more times than you ever expected. This campground, like all Kentucky state parks, prohibits the importation of firewood from any state outside of Kentucky. This is to help prevent introduction of the emerald ash borer into the state. Firewood is available for sale in state park campgrounds. There is a two-night minimum stay during peak season periods. This campground has just about anything a camper could want, including—just in case—a medical clinic nearby. Activities in the campground vary greatly; from elk viewing tours to scuba diving, it’s all here. Fishing here has improved over the years. Bass, hybrid striped bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish are all residents of Dewey Lake.
