If you are looking for a place that is small but packed with things to do, then Carter Caves should fill the bill. In addition to exploring the caves, you can explore the miniature golf course, horseback riding, and fishing lake. The area has plenty of hiking trails, horseshoe pits, and tennis courts. The lodge has a dining room and swimming pool. The campground is located in the winding hills of Eastern Kentucky in an unspoiled scenic wonderland of wildlife and flowers. The sites are easily accessible, and many are located in private locations where you’re not right up against the next campsite. The small lake has been set aside as a trophy lake for largemouth bass, and catching a 5-pound bass is not uncommon; however, the lake has both boat and motor limitations.
