Upper Cottonwood Canyon is another excellent touring area that can be easily accessed from Tony Grove Lake in the fall when the road is still passable. The canyon is huge and features a series of large peaks along the Bear River Divide for an amazing ski traverse and quality skiing on north and east faces. The whole area is part of the Mount Naomi Wilderness, which means Cottonwood Canyon is free of snowmobiles so you can enjoy your tour without any user conflicts once you go south and west of Tony Grove and Blind Hollow. You can ski and snowboard short laps at the head of the canyon or spend all day traversing to high points along the Bear River Divide.
