One of the most accessible backcountry touring areas in the Northern Wasatch is the North Ogden Divide. This trailhead is the start of several possible tours, the most common of which is Chilly Peak, a diminutive summit that cowers in the ever-present shadow of the much larger Ben Lomond Peak to the north. But what Chilly Peak lacks in size and fame, it makes up for with a relatively straightforward approach and tons of ski lines around her summit cone, including the challenging and spooky Rock Slab Couloirs. Other ski and snowboard descents south of the peak end at North Ogden Canyon Road above the town of Liberty, making for quick shuttle tours.
