Lone Peak is the king of the Central Wasatch Mountains. This iconic peak is best known as a rock-climbing destination, with challenging traditional routes found in the Lone Peak Cirque. But the mountain, which is visible from North Salt Lake to Provo, sees far fewer people in the winter months. Despite her reputation as one of the most difficult Wasatch summits to ascend due to mileage and total elevation gain from the valley floor, the mellow south face allows for a long but nontechnical day of spring corn skiing. In fact, some of the longest south-facing corn runs in all of Utah are found here.
