Little Water Peak is a nondescript summit between Mill Creek and Big Cottonwood canyons that rises to an elevation of 9605 feet. But this rounded hump hides steep, avalanche-prone skiing on her cold north face that offers killer powder turns into Mill Creek Canyon. Other honest-to-goodness backcountry ski lines exist on the rest of the compass as well, if your timing is right. You can ski or snowboard Little Water as an out-and-back from Mill D North Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon, or do a bi-canyon tour with a shuttle car stashed in Mill Creek Canyon. Either way, you can make tracks off the summit of Little Water until your heart’s content.
