As you head out the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike toward the Lehigh Valley, you will notice the land becoming more rural and slightly hillier. There are a lot of quiet roads and trails out this way that you can enjoy as long as you don’t mind a few ups and downs. This ride will take you on a hilly ride in and around Green Lane Park. Green Lane Park is a nice place to spend a warm summer day. Whether you want to relax on the beach, do a little fishing, or enjoy the biking or hiking trails, this park has enough variety to keep you busy. During the colder months people use this park for ice skating, cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice fishing. Green Lane Park is at one end of the Perkiomen Trail, which is described in Ride 25. For this ride we are going to explore some of the roads around the park and climb a few hills to get a view of the rural landscape.
