In bicycling terminology, a “wall” is a steep incline. In bicycle racing there is no more famous “wall” than the Manayunk Wall, part of the Philadelphia International Cycling Championship. In early June each year the pro riders visit this area to test their strength on this short but steep hill during a grueling 156-mile race. Although you might not be looking to race for a yellow jersey, you might want to test your legs on this hill as you explore the historic area of Manayunk.
