An easy add-on to an Opal Creek trip, the short 1.8-mile out-and-back to the impressive 126-foot Henline Falls is a no-brainer if you’re in the area and have the energy. Alternately, its size and the numerous waterfalls that hide above it make a trek to Henline worthy of its own day. Getting a real good look at Henline Falls is going to require you to get wet—either from spray in the spring or from wading in the summer. The 126-foot falls expands itself into one broad, angled, curtain-like cascade during high flow. In summer, however, it narrows considerably and primarily sticks to one main slot with some droplets finding their way over the neighboring ledge.
