Crystal Basin lies directly west of Silver Saddle. This tour is excellent in spring, when days are longer and corn snow has had a chance to develop. It is possible to descend all the way to State Route 410 (2.4 miles), and then to ski or hike the highway to the Crystal Mountain turnoff (4.1 miles). This is a very steep run. Difficulties: High avalanche potential.
