Directly south of the Crystal Mountain ski area are three basins: Silver, Campbell, and Crystal. Slopes in these basins provide fine skiing. Silver Basin is now fully incorporated into the Crystal Mountain ski area. This basin is only suitable for a backcountry tour when the lifts are not running. Then overnight tours are feasible, with safe campsites available in all three basins. If you do plan an overnight tour, park in the designated overnight area. Sign in with the ski patrol for all backcountry tours. Difficulties: High avalanche potential.

The hike to the top of Silver King is done on an easy boot packed trail. Just follow the ridge trail off the High Cambell chair and it only take 20 min or so to reach the top. Once at the top you have the option to ski the King or ski Silver Basin. Great skiing either way.
