This is a view tour, with a panoramic vista ranging from Mount Baker to Mount Rainier. The skiing is quite good, too. Recoilless rifles are sometimes used to release snow buildup on Cave Ridge; check with Alpental snow controllers before beginning a tour in this area. If you see any unusual object (e.g., something that might be a projectile) lying on the ground or snow, do not approach it! Mark the general location and report it to the snow controllers. This tour is steep: take an ice ax and crampons. Difficulties: High avalanche potential; routefinding required.
