Red Mountain is located at the head of the upper east fork of Commonwealth Creek,1.3 miles east of Mount Snoqualmie. The peak is also visible from the slopes of Snoqualmie Summit ski area, its gleaming west face showing just to the right of Guye Peak. Take an ice ax and crampons. Time your descent so that only the top inch of snow is soft—this is a steep run. Difficulties: High avalanche potential.
