Seen from Seattle, Vesper Peak is the broad pyramid at the front of the range, just north of Glacier Peak. The southern slopes may be seen from US 2 south of Monroe. This tour has an engaging “up and over” approach that is augmented by a speedy return to the trailhead, snowpack permitting. Difficulties: High avalanche potential; glacier travel (optional); permit / fee area.
