Goat Mountain is the handsome peak visible from the Mount Baker ski road, immediately north of the Nooksack River. Although this tour is fairly long, both the northern and southern slopes of this massive mountain offer excellent skiing in good snow conditions. For spring tours, be sure to get an early start. Difficulties: high avalanche potential; permit / fee area.
