Snowshoers who like to climb will love this route. Although the trail is broad and easy to follow all the way to the ridge crest, ample opportunities exist for those who want to show off their climbing abilities by heading straight up the open slopes. Views from the route are incredible, and the higher snowshoers go, the better the panoramic scenery. The jumbled peaks of the South Cascades spread away to the southern horizon with Mount Rainier dominating the skyline.

Keechelus Ridge provides for a nice adventure even for those who are not in best shape. The elevation gain is steady but gradual. You can follow the gently climbing FS road all the way to the top or if you feel like you are up for more exercise there is an opportunity to cut few switchback on the slopes of very inviting hills which also gives you an opportunity to leave the road and enjoy the trail through a forest.
