We only hiked the road portion, but it was an excellent day. The trail was well traveled on the lower portions, but by the time we reached the swithcbacks heading up to the end of the road, the tracks were all but covered. We met two skiers going the other way. They must have been 2 hours ahead of us, but the snow was falling so heavily that it looked like nobody had been on the trail for at least a day. Very quiet and peacful (No snowmobiles!). Around 3 hours round trip to the end of the road at a leisurely pace. I'll definitely go back and complete the trail.
Went snowshoeing on Thanksgiving Day. It was snowing heavily and a bit cool, but it was a great day out. The trail was well described and the route was easy to follow. Even the plow drivers on the pass were in a festive spirit. They plowed out behind my truck so they didn't wall me in with a 3 foot high wall of snow.
