Due to heavy snow in Jan 2008, we had to park about 5 miles before the trail. There were numerous small (3"-5") branches across the road and we were finally stopped by a 15" tree down across the road. The road was a bit dicey with lots of debris, rocks etc in road, but once in the snow it was beautiful. Make sure you have good traction tires or chains before heading up FS38 this year!

Forest Road 38 was blocked by fallen debris and rocks at the five mile marked. Road needs to be cleared before you can get to this trail.
