It may have been the perfect day we had--11 degrees, bright sunshine, and two inches of fresh powder--but this was a wonderful trip. We probably only went in about 3 miles (and back out) and it was a perfect day! Lovely snow and scenery and a pretty easy ski, though we definely got our excersise. We got on the trail at noon and back out about 3:30; the only wildlife was a fox that crossed in front of us. Lots of sign, so an early start would probably garner more sitings. Next time we'll get an earlier start and do the entire 10.5 mile loop (and maybe get to Fawn Pass on a summer's day hike).
