The Holland Lake area is a quiet winter spot under the Swan Mountains. A guest facility since 1924, it burned and was rebuilt in 1947. The cozy log and timber building houses an excellent restaurant, bar, and a few hotel rooms. Rustic cabins among tall timbers look out on Holland Lake, Holland Falls, and the Swan Mountain Range. The peaks of the Swan Range jet upward from the far shore to 9,000 and 10,000 feet. The crest of the Swan Range borders the rugged Bob Marshall Wilderness. Other activities include ice skating, ice fishing for cutthroat and kokanee salmon, and visiting the tame bobcat named, of course, Bobbie. Surface quality: Machine-groomed intermittently and skier-tracked.
