Blacktail’s trails offer fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, the Flathead Valley, and Flathead Lake. Often, when the Flathead Valley floor is under fog or clouds, Blacktail visitors ski or snowshoe above the clouds and into sunshine. Four different mountain ranges are visible from parts of the trail system, in addition to views into Lake Mary Ronan and Flathead Lake. Dogs are not allowed on the trails. Watch for the mule deer, also called blacktail deer, that inhabit the area. Surface quality: Machine-groomed as needed surfaces for single track and packed for skating and snowshoeing.
