Less than a two-hour drive (87 miles) from downtown Denver and located at the edge of the city of Granby is the Ski Granby Ranch. It’s a golf course / country club in the summer and a combination alpine/Nordic ski area during the winter months. Built in and around a ski-in/ski-out housing development, Ski Granby offers the best of winter sports for all abilities of outdoor enthusiasts, at low or no cost. Alpine skiing rates are in line with other downhill resorts, but if you want to cross-country ski or snowshoe down the mountain, there is a minimal charge for riding the lift to the top, where you’ll find 7.3 miles of designated trails from the top of the mountain back to the base ski lodge. Best of all, you are completely separated from the downhill skiers and boarders! And for novices the golf course offers 3 miles of Nordic trails.
