This is one of the most popular trail systems in the Traverse City region because of its proximity to the city and the fact that all loops are groomed. You’ll find the area covered with beautiful hardwoods, and you’ll be skiing in and out of the Boardman River Valley, the same trout stream that flows through downtown Traverse City before emptying into Grand Traverse Bay. A trip along this route will give you a bit of an idea why the Traverse region is the largest metro area in northern Lower Michigan. Surface quality: Groomed weekly, weather permitting, generally prior to each weekend.
