Located on the outskirts of one of Michigan’s largest cities, the 1,100-acre nature center’s summer hiking trails serve double duty in winter for cross-country skiers. Due to variable snow conditions, it’s wise to call ahead before planning your trip. On Monday when your friends are bragging around the copier about how many miles they chalked up, these routes may not sound like much, but they make up for it in beauty, history, and a wilderness setting so close to one of Michigan’s major southern cities. Surface quality: Ungroomed, but there is usually a skier-set track. Call ahead for trail conditions, since snow quality and quantity can vary.

the nature center provides beautiful scenery...trails were not groomed and we thought poorly marked...I doubt we will ever ski there again and was definitely not worth paying the $12 fee...
