La montagne qui tremp à l’eau. The mountain dipping in the water. Trempealeau Mountain is unique. In the entire 2,400-mile length of the Mississippi River, it is the only hill. Separated from the shore by a change in the channel, it has been a gathering place since people first canoed this great river highway. Perrot (PAIR-oh) State Park is one of the most beautiful and historic places in Wisconsin. When you reach the top of the 280-foot climb you’ll agree it’s one of the most scenic too. Surface quality: Ungroomed, hiker and snowshoer packed. Fees: yes.
