This is one tough and beautiful trail system. You’ll see the ridges of Black River State Forest as you travel I–94. These remnant sandstone hills rise up 300 feet out of the thick woods. Your ski on the Smreaker Trails will include going up and down one of these babies. It won’t be all work—once on top you’ll have fantastic views as you roll along the ridge top. An exciting downhill run will take you back onto rolling trails in the lowland forest. Surface quality: Groomed periodically, single tracked, skate lane. Fees: yes.
