Life is full of strange combinations. McMiller Sports Center is a classic example. Some of the visitors come here to ski, some come to shoot firearms at targets. The two coexist pretty well, even though the difference in equipment and appearance makes an unusual picture. Skiers interested in the toughest trails in the Southern Kettle Moraine can’t pass up the Blue Trail despite the crack of gunfire. In fact, when you are on the long last leg of the trail, after 4.5 miles without an intersecting trail, the sound reassures you that you really will make it back. Surface quality: Groomed, single tracked, skate lane. Fees: yes.
