The Caldera Loop, more commonly called Caldera, is one of the few loops in Bootleg Canyon which is not a combination of several trails. It is also not technically in the canyon, but instead covers ground just to the north of the actual canyon. The ride offers great views of the Las Vegas Valley, including the buildings on the famous strip as well as some of the greatest desert views in all of Bootleg Canyon.
The Caldera Loop is mostly smooth single track with some rocky areas and some areas filled with loose dirt and small loose rocks. The trailhead is actually a congruence of three trails: Girl Scout, Caldera, and the Inner Caldera Loop. Going straight up the hill will lead to Caldera. Going to the left leads to Girl Scout and to the right leads to the Inner Caldera Loop.
