West Leg is one of the most popular trails in Bootleg Canyon and when combined with a trail intentionally designed to be an introductory downhill course, you have one heck of a fun ride! Note that while you can take the East Leg portion of this ride with the standard mountain bike and mountain bike equipment, you may want to have pads and a full-face helmet. West Leg begins by heading up the dirt road to the trailhead. The entrance can easily be seen to the left of the road at just about where the telephone pole and the road meet. You’ll see the point where the trail cuts out from the road. Take that trail to the left up the short climb. Once at the crest of the short hill the trail splits into two. West Leg is the trail to the right; the trail to the left is Mother. Both trails are clearly marked.
