This route features a mixture of wide paths and flowing singletrack, some within forest, some in open meadows. Some rocky sections and exposed tree roots require focus and agility. From the trailhead, head west across the footbridge to join the Talon Trail. The start of the run is relatively flat, but the route is deceptive at first glance. There are numerous climbs and rolling switchbacks to enjoy along this route, the first of which is within one half-mile and continues uphill for 2 miles. There are grades upward of 20 percent on the route.
