The more technical Templeton Trail can be accessed at many points in the park, including the Mesa Trail. This 4-mile route is easiest to follow in a clockwise direction from a starting point near the Ute Crest parking area. Look for the yellow trail sign and go south a few hundred feet on singletrack to an upright post signed Templeton Trail and the foreboding black diamond designation most familiar to downhill skiers.
