This loop run can be done either clockwise or counterclockwise; the counterclockwise direction is described here. Encircling the entire Cherry Creek Reservoir, this loop run provides runners with wonderful opportunities to see bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, and great horned owls perched in the surrounding cottonwoods, as well as other waterfowl and shorebirds, along with mule deer, coyotes, and prairie species.
