Activity Type: Sea Kayaking
Nearby City: Tuckerton
Distance: 7-9 nautical miles
Skill Level: Difficult
Hazards/Cautions: Strong tidal currents can be found anywhere in Great Bay and the bordering marsh, but the open waters of the bay can be particularly tricky. Make sure your skill level matches the demands of the conditions and if you feel unsure, head back to the launch instead of taking a risk. If you choose to launch from the southern point of the peninsula, at the end of Great Bay Boulevard, be aware that the water here is full of currents since the Atlantic is just off in the distance to the left. Launching from this beach should only be attempted by very skilled kayakers. The water is rough, and there are submerged pilings on the right side as you launch.
