This long and varied hike through Harriman State Park passes through some beautiful terrain west of the Hudson River. It begins by following the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) past Island Pond and over the beautiful and distinctive glacially carved ridges of Harriman State Park. After 2.5 miles, the hike picks up the New York Long Path and uses that to make a loop around and over Fingerboard Mountain.
