Another deservedly popular New Jersey hike, the ascent of Wawayanda Mountain begins at the same parking area as the Pochuck Boardwalk hike. Though this out-and-back trip is not very long, it packs a punch. The trail climbs almost 900 feet. But the view from up on high is worth the effort, as is the passage of the trail itself as it meanders through a field of huge boulders.
