This would be a perfectly reasonable day trip if it weren’t for the presence of Second Mountain, which adds 4 miles and a significant ascent and descent to both the beginning and end of your day. At 19.2 miles, with 2,500 feet of elevation gain and loss, this is a mighty hike that will challenge even the hardiest of hikers.
